This
is an early self portrait made by Miro in his young twenties.
In the portrait he looks older than his age, determined to look
hard into himself. One sees cubist influence, the way his shirt
is broken into planes. One sees a face looking into the future
where he will discover more color, more playfulness, and more
freedom. |
