Auguste Rodin: The Kiss

The Kiss

     The French sculptor Rodin was drawn to sensual themes of the couple. The figures in his work The Kiss were originally intended for his monumental Gates of Hell. The work became a symbol of erotic art causing stirs in the art world in 1952 when it was aquired by the Tate Gallery in London.
